Civic and Human Services - Bullish on creating better communities.

Merrill Lynch Canada will spend the greatest percentage of its giving budget on civic and human services in the communities in which it operates. This includes donations to programs that help disadvantaged youth, adults and seniors. Merrill Lynch Canada’s donations have helped community centres and community based programs such as the Girl Guides, Children’s Aid and Big Brothers and Sisters, to name just a few.

As well, Merrill Lynch allocates a quarter of its giving monies to the United Way. To this end, the company donates corporately and encourages employees to be active in the United Way campaigns in Montreal, Calgary and Toronto.

Health and Hospitals - Bullish on keeping people healthy.

Merrill Lynch Canada charitable funds have helped a number of health and hospital charities including organizations that raise funds and awareness about breast cancer, pediatric oncology, ALS, autism, cancer and AIDS, and our dollars help a great many adult and children’s hospitals expand their services. Our list of recipients continues to grow as the need is great.

Education – Bullish on providing opportunities for learning.

The company is committed to helping organizations reach out to their communities with educational programs. To this end, Merrill Lynch Canada has supported a number of small and innovative education initiatives, scholarships and centres of learning.

Arts and Culture – Bullish on living life through arts and culture.

Merrill Lynch Canada supports the arts and cultural organizations throughout Canada. Our commitment has helped Roy Thomson Hall, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Stratford Festival, International Film Festival, the Canadian Olympic Association, Montreal’s Musee des beaux Arts, Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal and the Nature Conservancy of Canada to list but a few.
